Re: Quality of Crepes

Can you believe it, even now the snuff suede are lurking out of sight...

EDIT finally got my credit from Pointer too, timely, I think, but where are those snuff babies?!

Re: Quality of Crepes

indeed, there is no pic, but it seems you can order them already... only the Chukka boots in snuff, though...

they don't do a snuff gibson this time, just black and dark brown... had posted a link to the dark brown lo top before, because I had seen tobacco browns at oipolloi earlier this year, and I didn't check correctly...

there's a snuff chukka in the Ambassadors range (Holborn), however... not a crepe sole, but a regular pair of Chukka Boots with Dainite soles...

the playboy type's colour will be probably exactly like that...

nevertheless, it's strange they don't manage to photograph their most coveted pair of shoes...

a conspiracy?

wink

Re: Quality of Crepes

Are we all after the snuff? After all that teasing with the text only and now, no snuff!!!!! Arrgggghhhh.
Liking the green Ollies too, some nice shoes indeed. My birthday next week, was gonna get the missus to donate to the Snuff fund... oh well.

Many shoes in that range look pretty good. Despite my misgivings about chukka boots in general I might have to buy the dirty buck variant: a pleasing evocation of the old KH / WalkOver. Had the white buck Gibson featured five eyelets rather than four I would have been quite tempted by them also.

I understand many of these are the handiwork of one Mark McNairy. What ever happened to his Bass collaboration?

Re: Quality of Crepes

Just got this reply from Sanders.

The Lo-Top 7995ss will be available in Snuff Suede but it will not be until August.

Are they low on Snuff Suede?

Re: Quality of Crepes

Wassup guys, after reading and posting the number to Mikes it finally occurred to me that you guys aren't fond of the leather Sanders, but the old school suede 'snuff' brown color which prompted me to call Mike. He told me the old styles are $180 a pop and the 'new' styles are $250. I asked if he had the suede 'snuff' brown he said not until the fall so I thought maybe those who are less connected to other sources could call and inquire about them a little more than I did.

Re: Quality of Crepes

The problem for us Mookey is cost of shipping + duty/import tax if we bought them from Mikes. I'd love a tan leather pair, personally.

It turns out 'even' Prince Charles wears playboys ... or at least some form of them.
Have a look at Saturday's issue of the Times magazine.

Re: Quality of Crepes

If only I was a 9.5 .... They look really nice , the soles arn't too thick much like the ones McQ wears.
Makes you wonder why Trickers don't still make them?

Re: Quality of Crepes

Blimey !
Still they did look like a good pair, with not much wear. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a size 8.

Also the natural colour of the 'foxing' leads to a lighter looking weight to them .... very jealous
