Yes - I spoke with Mike, he says he is getting more of the Sanders in fairly soon.  They sound very nice.  Any chance of putting up a photo of them?  Thanks.

Re: Quality of Crepes

Just picked up a NOS pair of the J Simons low cut brown suede that say "Original Playboys" on the inner. But anyone got any ideas (and sorry if this has been covered already) on repairing the "gape" between the crepe and the leather trim? As soon as I walked out the crepe started to come asunder.

Thanks to one and all. Still waiting on the Sanders from Pointer products. The postman is starting to look worried about me.

Re: Quality of Crepes

Hi and thanks

As is the way with these things, as soon as I posted on here, a message arrived from Bob saying they'd been sent. Like lighting a cigarette at the bus stop.

The excitement builds......

Re: Quality of Crepes

Sanders low cut black leather arrived last night. Wonderful but more of a dress shoe than Clubmans or Originals.

Now did I see on here that there might be a version with a more rounded toe.

There goes that damn grail again, disappearing in the distance......

Re: Quality of Crepes

Is this tread specific to the Playboy style shoes or would other crepe soles like the wallabee be included

Re: Quality of Crepes

Wassup Brother Joe, well thats a good question since the topic is quality of crepes I imagine all crepe shoes are fair game although Talk Ivy is primary. I guess the moderator will let you know if you are off topic tho we all do it once or twice,my guess Joe is Ivy League dress and I know few Ivy cats who wear Wallys me myself Am a British Walker head I was turned on to PBs by my BW homies,I found this forum when my homey posted the link on the British Walkers site of McQueen and Paul Simon rocking the PBs. I like Wallabees I got a Navy suede pair some where so welcome and Russell Street the moderator will fill you in brother.

Re: Quality of Crepes

My Man MOOKEY; NOT BAD FOR MUD BOOTS. THEY COULD HAVE GAVE IT A BETTER THAN THAT.BUT WHAT REALLY CAUGHT MY EYE WAS THE SHOE LACES, REAL KOOL WONDER HOW THOSE LACES WOULD LOOK ON THE ROUND TOE SANDERS AND THE STREAMLINE SANDERS.

Re: Quality of Crepes

Went in to see John Rushton today and he told me Sanders have promised delivery for tomorrow for the snuff suede playboy boots. Interesting as Sanders have removed all mention of them from their own site.

John also has the suede tricker type brogue in green, tan and brown with natural crepe sole.

Also news on Astorflex - once John has sold off his remaining stock of Sebago (3 eyelet!) desert boots he will start stocking the Astorflex in colours from the autumn and will be the only UK stockist of those excellent desert boots!

Plus Mr G Gardens had been in there yesterday and dropped off a look book for the forthcoming Ivy Style book - looks great GG...

Re: Quality of Crepes

Chris - I bought a pair of the dirty buck chukkas! Beauties. £150. Get down there. Almost as good as JS's old Walkovers.

Weejun - ha! Small world we mix in. Glad you like my IVY LOOK blad. John Rushton was very supportive and will be stocking copies when it's published. I have now had a few very early advance copies from the printers and I'm pretty pleased with it. I hope there's enough in there to keep us obsessives happy while not alienating novices. Format and design are nice and GM and myself have knocked together a few pithy little essays.

g.g.
