I like reverse pleats and they are elegant either with side tabs, belt loops or the english back. They are neater, they always look good and they are more modern.
Forward pleats can sort of place you in the realm of a RL floor salesperson. A very nice look mind you with an appreciation of nostalgia, but not serious for contemporary purposes.
Forward pleats look better on heavier fabrics and if you dont do a lot of sitting.
