All I'd do to Sherilyn would be to take her skirt in and up. A Line is fine, but be careful what font that A is in. On the knee toys with frump, which is always doable. I stay above.
The sweater is so perfect I could purr. The shoes are a statement to be used sparingly.

Whilst I am not convinced that our new female friends are not a sock puppet of ol Russell (or perchance it is the true Harry coming out here),, I shall play all the same.  Do see the description of ol Miss Porter's dress code from back in the day from ol Vanity Fair.  Reminds of when we all trundled into ol 'orace's car for a road trip up to ol Farmington.  Sadly  I am not at liberty to discuss the liberties that were take, what?

David Heymann’s 1983 biography of Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton, Poor Little Rich Girl, to the displeasure of the school and the disdain of her classmates, Hutton, who inherited $26 million from her grandfather and had a $60,000 debutante ball, wore tweed skirts from Chanel, frilly jabot blouses, and angora sweaters with lynx collars and cuffs. “It was as though she wanted to show us up,” one of her classmates recalled.

It didn’t matter that the Miss Porter’s outfit might be inappropriate for the weather. Discomfort was part of the point. As Nina Straight recalls, even in September, when the temperature could reach the 80s, girls had to keep their collars and sleeves buttoned and their wool socks on. And in the dead of winter, neither pants nor stockings were allowed unless the temperature dipped below 10 degrees.
