I never quite know the line between Chukkas & the less formal Dessie. All the ones I posted where billed as Dessies but some you might argue stray into Chukka territory by being slightly more refined. Dunno.
The Gordon Rush ones above when compared to the the more basic of the Dessies make them look like Chukkas..

I recently purchased a pair of Clarks' desert shoes - in chocloate brown suede - basically a low-top version of the boot. V. nice with some red socks.....

John Rushton has a good selection of Sebago and Cheaney desert boots. The Cheaney's look similar to Church's. The Sebago's have a good thick tongue for extra comfort - on sale at £75 IIRC.
