..and, if i'd had - say - a gym theacher looking like jason i would not have dared to skip all the gym lessons in high school in fear of getting a kick in me nuts.

If that selection of pictures is anything to go by... The world already is a very dull place....
I was reading a piece by so called fashionista Nicky Haslam at the weekend. Whatever your opinion of him, he said something that made me think. He talked about being in New York and 'cutting through the acres of Brookes Brothers grey flannel'. Where is the glamour I wonder?
Miles had glamour, Chet had glamour, McQueen, Newman all the Icons we hold up on this forum.
Is everyone too concerned with keeping things low key, subtle?. Kids on here dressing like middle aged people. What will they wear when they actually are middle aged?
Daniele has that certain something. I wish there were more of his like. Larger than life. Memorable. Glamorous...
^ Daniele is Italian. I'm a Dutch potato eater.
only speaking of myself now, while being a common man and living - both mentally and moneywise - as far away from stardom, glamour , 'bigger than life-ness' as possible i feel no need to pretend / act / dress otherwise. you may call it normal, boring, dull, whatever, which my life / dress may be but i'm very fucking content with that. and, a 'normal' / 'boring' life really ain't that boring at all.
like tom rath brilliantly stated: 'you never want to be the guy that they can see coming from a mile away. you want to be the guy they never see coming'. whether i have succeeded in that, it's not mine to decide. but that sure is my aim.
however, i agree re. daniele. he's on a level of his own.
actually, i'd love to see his wievs on this.
yeah.. forgot to mention, middle-aged here also, if 39 years count.

Come on Heikki, if you felt that dull and boring why do you keep sending in photos of yourself? To share your mediocrity with us all?
You want us to admire you. Which is good. We all want to be admired. Otherwise we would all wear grey overalls.
I just wonder how everyone is happy to call themselves dull as though it's an important part of the whole Ivy thing. I don't think It matters whether your'e Dutch, British or whatever '66.
Patrick is larger than life. I bet people remember him along time after they meet.
beatnik, i merely used the world 'dull' to counteract it: i think it was you who used it here (this topic) first didn't you?
l
Uncle said it best. We play with conceptions of "dull"... we make it look good. To our eyes. We leave "the others" puzzled, if we even get noticed in the first place.
You're right Heikki. I did.
'66, If ever you get a clothes shop, you can put over the door...'We make dull look good'...
now i'll be off to drop some acid to see brighter colours and get me creative juices flowing.
..sorry, couldn't resist. i've got a shit sense of humour AND a shit day at work. i'd need some acid for christ's sake.
..or perhaps some dull er DUFF lager would do.

Heikki. You are one of the good guys. A good barney sorts out who has a sense of humour and who is a shallow little shit like NSB. You rock!
As they say in the online forum world: "get a room you two".
Only if you will come too. My little potato eating Dutch love monkey...
