That list... that list... gibber, gibber... not fair...
The high rise chino. Nothing better. Works every time.
Add: Neil Martin. For the softest Madras half-sleeve I wear.
I like this very, very much.
A welcome topic. I sometimes think it's possible to be a little too accommodating at times.
Funny: I've got a very, very tiny Hanes t-shirt. I used to buy quite a bit of stuff off rather a famous lady author/dealer (her elder daughter was one of Obama's cheerleaders back in the day, as it were), and we then exchanged bits and pieces; including some vintage advertising (Wembley ties) and this little t. I had my first - rayon, loop collar - Lion of Troy from her, and shirts that are featured in books she's published.
Belongs in mah drawer...
All of this must remain an ideal, I think, fitting in with the purist vision that is so eloquently promulgated by Gibson Gardens and a handful of others. Can it be pulled off now, even in London? John Simons warned of the difficulties. I may be getting to the age where, yes, I can dress in top to toe Ivy seven days of the week, and I'm glad I put together the wardrobe when I did, including sack and slack. Those uncomfortable with the hardline will tread their own path, of course - there are many roads leading to salvation - but I would advise younger men to read GGs 'Yale' posting carefully.
