The 'Breathing Space' Rule

Talking to Jim about this last evening.

Are there any English posters with sufficient wardrobe space they can hang suits and jackets with space between them?  Mine's at bursting point, and overcoats and raincoats have to be stored with my wife's stuff.  Same with drawers.

Re: The 'Breathing Space' Rule

I've got to the stage where I'd like to make some breathing space.

When my daughters left home I took over the wardrobes in their rooms, It's madness really.............

Now I'd really like to reduce my wardrobe to a core of clasic items I could wear on a regular basis.

Re: The 'Breathing Space' Rule

My dad counted his shirts recently and he had 57 or something ridiculous like that and that was after a major trip to the charity shop to drop some off. I fear I may have inherited this trait.

My girlfriend has the same affliction but her vice is jackets (more bulky than shirts I never tire of reminding her).

We are seriously considering hiring one of those lock-up units.

Re: The 'Breathing Space' Rule

My entire apartment is jammed with my furniture and my clothes, both of whose volume really demand at least a small house.  When I move, which hopefully will be soon, to a bigger city (and consequently, a smaller apartment), I expect to store much of the furniture until the day comes when I have a house, but the clothes are going to be a problem.

I am not English, but speak it as my first language.  Our master bedroom is a converted attic which has a huge walk-in closet.  Once my wife saw that it sealed the deal for buying the house.  I have more than enough room to store everything with sufficient breathing space.  May make it tough to move.
