Darn, I think I can send messages (anyone getting 'em; Harpo?) but I can't receive them unless they come from AC! I can't delete messages either.
Anyways, I've tried to shoot you another PM, Harpo.
Let me know if it works. If you don't see anything, send me an email direct: oliverbesner@sympatico.ca
Nothing's come through Oli - I'll drop you an email mate.

I certainly wouldn't hesitate if that were a 15-3. I wonder if it really is 50s? Lack of made in USA is a good sign, as there was a time when that was taken for granted.
Based on this info, no. It would likely date from the late 1980s. The CJ TAFT trademark wasn't registered until 1986, although filed in '83. A nice shirt regardless.
On Monday, September 12, 1983, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for C.J. TAFT by SERO COMPANY, INC., THE, CORDELE 31015. The USPTO has given the C.J. The 7 button placket and over all demeanour did suggest a more recent vintage. I suspect it would look perfect with a 50s jacket/suit though.
It cracks me up what gets described as 50s/60s. I've seen some proper Sweeney style 70s jackets described as 60s mod. Good luck with that one . . .
I always see NEW Gant Ruggers listed as vintage.
I would have guessed late-60s from the cut alone, but the label does look more recent which is a sad testament to the fact that quality shirts were still being manufactured in the USA only 20 years ago.
The pale pink color is great btw.
The font on the label is not right for the 60's. 80's would be my guess as well.
