Spanks!
If anyone's interested, the same seller has an identical pair of 8.5's in black.
Don't Norwegians have a seam in the middle of the toebox?
Yes, but also without they are Norwegians. Another name is "Golfer"... It is the seam that goes around that makes them Norwegians. Just think of Weejuns...

I was just being funny, Leer. You've educated me a great deal on shoes.

I wonder if that patch pocket could be removed, flipped, and sewn back on without seeming out of place; any ever tried it on an old university/club blazer?

Good question. There would be the felt backing to deal with, and it would depend on how that patch is attached. Maybe an expensive experiment there with that particular jacket.
Im usually not into this sorta thing but I think this sweater-jacket hybrid looks great - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-50s-PENGUIN-Seattle-Zip-up-Gray-Wool-GRANDPA-Ivy-League-Sweater-Cardigan-M-/131254697980
Good point!
I have an old '60s Fink University novelty patch so I'd give it a shot if I came across a jacket I really dug at a reasonable price and if it didn't work out, I'd just sew that on top.
This is a real hip looking autumnal plaid sack in sz 40 -

That Bean shirt looks good! Wonder if it really is 50s?
Is it just me - or does anybody else find Elena from the 'ebay seller protection team' strangely alluring?
