This is kind of interesting...

Rear vent is still stitched so must be NOS but it's got some moth damage to rear collar. I've always wanted a proper herringbone overcoat with belt (see O'Connell's tweeds for $1,200!) but I'm not sure how I feel about a short jacket-length belted shawl; seems a bit feminine and maybe too bathrobe-like. My search for a '50s Invertere coat presses on...

I have a couple of these Manhattan University Row shirts and they're great; size 16:

This is pretty neat... someone should buy it (make an offer) and scan all contents for a blog post:

^ I see someone went for it. Who's the buyer?
Good snag Woof. That's a rare find there. I saw a similar kit in an antique store once, but most of the contents were gone and the whole thing was in very poor condition. I still considered getting it, but spent my money on records instead. Can't wait to see the contents.
Yeah, way to go man!
Those vintage fabric swatches are pornographic. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of them along with the house cuts in the catalogue, especially the "Natural American".
A couple of NOS all-cotton Career Club tab collars still in package, size 16:

^ Nothing to be ashamed about, that's a great mustard color!
I have a similar linen sack that I wear with a thin black knit tie, white button down shirt, black cotton trousers, and big square gunboats. Looks cool with dark shades.
Woah, this is a real steal! Penneys tweed jacket size 40:

I totally disagree. Look at that thing... hook vent, swelled edges... it's beautiful. Someone got it. Someone on here?
I know where you're coming from Jdemy, but I bet you'd be surprised if you actually held that jacket in your hands. I'd put money on it being well constructed.
I defer to my colleague above (Worried Man), who certainly "knows his onions". I am sure Penney's of the past is a lot better than I recall- and a LOT better than the bargain stores it has been replaced by (Old Navy, Target, etc.)
Not saying it's necessarily on par with a Brooks, Press, Southwick, Norman Hilton, etc. of the same era, but I maintain, probably a quality jacket. I'd guess you'd be spending upwards of $600 USD for a comparable modern jacket, and even then you wouldn't have that snaggled rear vent.
Okay, truth be told, I got lost in a Penney's, couldn't find my mother and I had a breakdown. It ruined me psychologically for shopping there. Granted I was 35 at the time, but mother was a formidable figure, and so stern, so stern...
Hahaha. I uhm... completely... understand. Uhm... yeah.
Has anyone noticed a decrease in the amount of good stuff on Ebay?
