I've never seen the word Kashfi before. It sounds like marketing schtick to me. I did a google search but the only hit related to cloth was the listing.

"Genuine Kashfi Madras". Yeah, sounds very mad men... They probably took the name from the actress Anna Kashfi, best known for having been briefly married to Marlon Brando in the late 50s, and whose Indian origins are just as questionable as that fabric's. Fantastic!

Two really beautiful size small deadstock bleeding madras shirts. One has gussets. This could get crazy.
Anybody here end up getting the deadstock one? It looks like the Arrow is going to go for just as much.

$192.26!!!!!!
Embarrassing. Paid $15 for the same shirt five years ago, and that included post from the USA!
Wow, that's nuts. Am I missing a trick here or are Arrow shirt really THAT popular that they command that kind of price tag?
I think it's just the bleeding madras bit that swung it. The colours too I think are the most desirable madras colours. Arrow Cum Laude is mid range stuff I think.
I love that shirt and I'd probably pay over the odds for it and not feel too guilty but nearly $200? Fuck that.

Careful, measurements are more in the 42-44 range.
Thanks for staying alert Zach, I'm not really familiar with sizing other than my own measurements.
The jacket is very similar to this blue one I bought a while ago. I'm still pondering about changing those buttons. I really like the white (or are they mother-of-pearl?) buttons on that green one. Looks fresher.

They do look fresher.... mother of pearl would be my best guess.
That's a beautiful jacket. As is the Olive one you posted, Ville.
Have you had the weather to try it out yet? Is it a light wool or cotton?

Mother of pearl... I have an old suit jacket, the suit is from 1967 I guess (I gave away the trousers long ago) - typical European darted Mod suit (Italian-Brit-style) in a darker blue (a tad lighter than navy) - the buttons are mother of pearl and look VERY similar. Change them, that jacket is a beauty and will look even better... Both jackets look ace. I really dislike most sack jackets, but those are very nice!
Lovely jackets, shame not my size? Would wear both, as you say Woolster, look great with the MoP buttons.
killer single button summer sack, wish it were smaller!

Thanks fellas, yeah I think I'll change the buttons when I get around to it, maybe wear it as is a few times first just to see how it feels.
Liam, we've had nice enough weather in Finland for the past few weeks, but I haven't had the occasion to try it out yet. Based on the pics I was expecting something lighter still, maybe a wash 'n wear like that red one on NSV, but turned out it was a midweight hopsack with metallic undertones like that green one so it's a bit jivey, but I like it regardless.
Sounds good looks good. The buttons would look great on a more traditional looking blazer I think. You don't see many blazers with nice low key brass buttons. But on that particular jacket it doesn't seem to sit right.
Mid weight hopsack sounds about right for a Scottish Summer I have to say. Today's been the first real Summery day since the end of March and I don't mind admitting I've gone a bit mental and I'm wearing madras and no socks.
The red one on NSV is fantastic I think. Not a straight up red and not the sort of burgundy blazer you see usually on old men (in Scotland anyway it's a popular choice). Zach kindly put a reserve on it for me till pay day so I'm hoping our Summer carries on so I can prep it up one Weekend.

Agreed, it looks the business. What are you going to wear it with?
The second day of summer here. I wore madras too.
Would you believe me if I said I hadn't given it much thought?
I want to keep thing plain and let the jacket be the stand out. I'll also attempt to avoid obvious preppy connotations.
Probably I'll wear it with a navy knitted tie or a slim black tootal I have on a blue 70's Gant Poplin BD I bought last year and haven't worn yet. Then it'll just be 519's in stone and burgundy Weejuns. I was thinking about it with no socks but I'm not sure about that yet. I'll have to see how much of a preppy douche I look.
