And just who the hell are you with your eleven posts to make fun of a venerable, five year Internet tradition?

apologies, I was un-aware that post counts and mockery correlated in any way. Is there perhaps a visual aid or bar graph of sorts to help educate the ill-informed?

Re: a very merry un-birthday

This is actually rather good by Mr. Chensvold:

http://www.ivy-style.com/five-years-of-trad.html

He misses out 'my' manipulation of Trad (he still thinks 'I'm' a person and not a force of nature), but I'd guess that manipulation is a sensitive subject for him.

"Irk and roil" indeed! I bathe in 'Trad', as I do in his contributions to my holy work.

But then I'm English... We've always enslaved people. We're quirky like that.

Re: a very merry un-birthday

I've never read anything by this 'Harris' person to be honest and Trad never meant anything to me either, just seems like a bore to be honest. I only really know about it via Jim ( whom I'm really fond of although I don't believe a word about this 'crew' of his ) as it happens. Just my two pence on the so-called matter, thanks for reading.

Re: a very merry un-birthday

What's trad?

The J Press catalogue.  It's a coherent, viable look.  Not pure Ivy at all.  Lot of Anglophilia and country club in there.  "Nice" clothes for upper-middle class folks.

It's real.  Much of it is good.  Lesbefriends.

Re: a very merry un-birthday

'Trad' started as a shill for Ben Silver. Now it's a shill for J. Press.

So wot?

However...  Although J. Press pre-dates the construct of 'Trad', the construct of 'Trad' pre-dates J. Press as Press being a 'Trad brand'. All of this stuff feeds itself.

J. Press embracing 'Trad' is really scummy, but then again they are "the new Gap" so let 'em.

Wiser heads see all this and shake. But they shake with laughter.

Carry on.

Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs--what's wrong with that, I'd like to know.

It's only when their jingles are presented as opera that they deserve a kick.

Presentation is all.
