Re: Bad to Worsted

I like worsted, btw.

But only in an Ivy cut in England. It's a nice little mixed metaphor that way.

"Works for me!"

Re: Bad to Worsted

I have a suit in worsted Silver Gander from Reid and Taylor.  The trousers can practically stand by themselves, way too hot for the office, except for that one or two days a year when the heating isn't quite warm enough.

AQG: if you yanks "socialise" your health service, the doctors will gain even more kudos.  I've travelled the world and never seen a place where the profession of being a doctor is so well respected above many other more noble professions, such as Engineering, as in the UK.  There so immune, they can even commit mass murder for a couple of decades before the Medical Council (or whatever its called) will lift a finger.

Onslow's "wife beater" is not worsted, it's Sea Island cotton bespoke from CustomShirt1. A gift from Hyacinth BooKae.

Re: Bad to Worsted

Give me flannel or give me death.

Or poplin, or corduroy or tweed or seersucker or fresco.

But don't give me no Worsted. Pull my coat when I need it but don't feed me that motherfucker. Ever.

If we're being professionally confessional I must aver that I teach contemporary dance. In a thread a few weeks ago a typo may have led people to believe I was a roofer.

I meant to write Hoofer.

Cool, Dad.

Hey R--not to beat a dead horse, but what sort of professions DO the British like and respect?

I'll stump for prostitutes and pot dealers, God's angels on earth.

It's odd, but we equally sneer at those who work & those who do not.

Me, I walk the middle path...

I look like I'm employed but my day begins and ends with lunch.

Hic!

I think I saw you in "A night on the tiles" or was it "Flashing-dance"? They were both slated by the critics!
