Bespoke last maker - Melbourne
After a long search, l finally found the man. Bruce Miller has been making bespoke lasts for decades the traditional English way. He's away at the moment, but apparently he knows the footwear industry well and has a good knowledge of the history of shoo making in Melbourne. This could be my chance to own some bespoke shoos.
This is a big breakthrough for me, i'm not going to leave the premises until he tells me the complete history of Melbourne cordwainers. 
He is also looking at 3D scanning technology for making lasts too.

Here is a good leather merchant that many of our local craftsmen use:

No good shoe trees though.
There is also a brilliant leather merchant up in Queensland that offers even more leathers, cane toad leather, peacock leather, stingray etc. l'll have to find out from a friend (one of the few haute couture designers in Oz) the name of the place.

lt is a possibility Big Tony. l know an old lady (she has no qualifications) who is a brilliant historian. She has proven history books wrong many times and consults professors at Melbourne University (the academics use her info for their books and papers). She says the problem with history academics is that they are lazy and rely on previous books for their information: often the books that the academics rely on are wrong in the first place. She may be able to work with me on this. So many possibilities, i'm not going to be able to sleep for a week.
