Re: Rugby Hunt

I loathe them too, if that helps.

Many of us were born to be 'The Enemy Within'...

Ratty is Bent To The Bone and so he hated all the closet cases at Rugby. They just weren't Gay enough for him.
I hated them for being... Nothing. They'd say & do anything and had no CORE to them...
... But what I learned from them is that that's the way the world works: BS Rules.

I do enjoy talking about the old place, though, if I'm ever caught peeing up a wall or puking in the gutter - I remain 'An Ambassador For The School' as they used to say.  wink

If I ever burn down an orphanage the first thing I'll do will be to talk about Rugby on the Six O'Clock news.

Anything for a laugh.

Re: Rugby Hunt

You can buy rugby shirts, of a sort, in Marks now.

Old associations are whittled away. I used to associate them with long-haired students as much as ra ra types.

Re: Rugby Hunt

Hmm, I was never aware of any associations with rugby shirts--growing up in the American midwest, they were just another shirt, worn for touch football on the lawn/cleaning out the garage/lounging around kinda things.

I like the plain models w/ white plackets and collars, or big chunky stripes in the classic colors.

Re: Rugby Hunt

The return of the Tory Toffs sees the ascendancy of yellow patterned ties on bold blue shirts understated with hypocrisy and fag ends of rent scandals. Cameron use to sing along to 'Eton Rifles' and yes, looking at it from the other perspective, what chance have you got against a tie and a crest?  Labour has to go, and I'm particulary looking forward to the demise of the Labour woman, never has there been such an overwhelming advert for mysogyny and the whip.

Strong medicine and radical action is needed by the Tories, Cameron seems to lack the fire in his belly.  I think there might be a chance with those jowals, especially if he takes to drinking his wife's family's Jura whisky in large quantities, he may yet prove a man of action and destiny.
