Re: Shirt Ads

I used to own a McGregor v similar to that one (back in ye olde 1990s), I wore it until it fell apart.  It used to get a lot of comments, including a few negative ones as I recall, it was orange mind you.

The ads are superb, I'll be sticking them on my fakebook page over the next few days in an attempt to educate my friends and acquaintances.

Re: Shirt Ads

In fact I went to a townie nightclub in Hull on a Saturday night wearing the shirt, some time later a young lady I knew helpfully explained to me that (in her words) the entire nightclub had been laughing at me that night due to my shirt.  I took it as a compliment.

Yuca - is that Luis Garcia Esquivel in your avatar? This has been bugging me, I'm not familiar with that sleeve.

Re: Shirt Ads

It wasn't Tower, which shut down approx a decade ago, I was referring to The Sil (aka The Silhouette), which was similar but not quite as dire.  'The Tower For An Hour' was Tower's slogan, i.e. within an hour of arriving you would have pulled.  Maybe I should have visited more often . . .
Actually I DJed Tower once when (Acid Jazz band) Corduroy played there, I also played keyboards once with some sketchy local funk rock band and played harmonica with some local indie band there once, the memories are flooding back now . . .
p.s. Ace Face do you/did you know any mod types in Hull, or is your name a reference to your physiognomical attributes?
