Elvis was super nerd cool, until he grew a beard, then he lost it. There's a lesson in that.
I worked with his cousin for a time, said when he first made it, he had a metallic blue Rolls with a Elvis plate. Drove it up to Prenton in Birkenhead to visit his mum. I also worked with the cousin of Lewis Collins, who had been in a skiffle band with him. Amazing how close one came to fame working in the 300ton and 3ton fabrication shops. Or shit, and yes, there was another guy whose cousin was some singer, can't remember her name, maybe Elkie Brooks.
