Russell has got me a bit dewy eyed with his latest trips down memory lane.
I love these little anecdotes. My own recollection is that my first visit to The Squire Shop in Brewer Street in the early Autumn of 1969 was so influential that I wanted to chuck out all of my then wardrobe. I bought my first pair of Royals then - black long wing. A little later I made my first visit to the Ivy Shop when I bought some 'cordovan' plain Royals.
From late 1969 to around early 1971 I was a frequent visitor to both and later to the Village Gate shops.
There was something very, very special about that stuff. Perhaps it is not until now and the imminent loss of the remaining link to it all that I can truly see it for what it was.
having never been there i can only imagine how cool it must have been in the glory days
Oooh get her...
Well we've got Russell and Gibbo as Compo and Cleggy. Now we have the third Last of the Ivy whiner. The one no-one ever remembers the name of.
Quite apt really for you Birkenhead.
Now you can all roll down memory hill in your bathtub go-cart together...
Ummmm... Show me the whine?
I loved Brideshead's post - 'Dewey eyed' sums up my position very well.
Remembering good times, good friends and good clothes.
I think we celebrate all this far more than we whine about it.
Maybe?
See, whine sounds like wine but it has a different meaning Jim. It's the basis of a lot of humour...
My bad.
I thought you had a point to make.
I've made a fool of myself.
I've thought you had a point to make for the past few years Jim dear. But we're still no closer to getting it...
As if!
I just like meeting like-minded people. Finding those who share my interests is nice.
Which am I?
Seriously - I never watched it.
Aw look, the liittle chap did a rib tickling yawning smiley thing. How droll. I think you can get them as glitter stickers for your pencil case too...
Oh he's deleted it now maybe Mum told him to get off the computer 'cos he's turkey drummers are ready...
Excellent pic Prof by the way. Yes the evidence is all there...

I think I'm Compo.
Which is which?
Cleggy is GG & Brideshead is the other one - If I'm reading Big B. correctly.
Actually the one in the middle looks pretty good...
Ooooh - You fancy Brideshead! (Middle)
I like Cleggy so I'm glad GG is him as I like GG too. (Right)
... And I'll take the bullet as Compo for the team. (Left)
Oh fuck off!
'Becs is lovely.
The great thing about being 'Russell' is that such great people come my way.
Just like you.
The divorce has been hard for Jordan and Peter Andre...
