No Birkenhead, Beatnik Hasn't won. We all know we need Jim. And I think he knows it too. And he has been very clever here, God love him. He's called my bluff.
He knows I couldn't give over the time he does to the forum. I can't do what he does at the moment. All I wanted was a change of direction and today we've had it to a certain extent.
Of course there is, and always will, be the strong clothing content and If you notice I tend to keep out of that.
I just wanted to be entertained and have some fun. Things have been a touch more 'edgy' today but that's good don't you think?
Jim's the man. I just wanted to give him a little shake that's all...

Also you see a bigger picture with an editor's eye.

The demise of J. Simons is obviously something of a dividing point; yes, it's the end of one era but it can also mean the start of something new and in many ways better. Knowledge of and access to all this can now be global and some will always want to know more. It will never be mass market again but as long as a few inquisitive minds get fired up by the look that's enough.

I know how keen you are to see other people come here from different points of embarcation. That lifeblood would all be lost if you were to be just another schmo.

FNB (the site, not the man) is getting somewhat stuck in the mud. I think this is what Uncle means. We must always be independent men, no sacred cows, no icons, etc. We meet here to argue with each other and thrash out new ideas. We should never become a product review forum, or a mutual-ego-support service.
