Re: When bespoke wishes and fabric dreams go wrong

Are those trousers supposed to be custom? If so, they are bad publicity to whoever made them.

Re: When bespoke wishes and fabric dreams go wrong

Solito doesn't make trousers as far as I know. If they were made by whom I'm thinking, I've seen much better results from them.

I don't know about Solito, but it's common practice for tailors around the world to externalise the trousers...

Re: When bespoke wishes and fabric dreams go wrong

l went to my tailors today to get some stuff made. ln the other room stood the most amazing suit i've ever seen, a beautiful navy pinstripe bespoke in a Scabal fabric for $17,000 (his starting price for full bespoke). The suit looked completely painted on the dummy...freaking flawless. l'm not going to forget that suit for the rest of my life. l would have loved to have taken a photo, but l wouldn't dare ask him, there is NO way he'd let me.

He tells me that he has terminated many of the forum people as clients (dead wood) and has raised his prices to discourage them from coming around. He hates the internet and hates igents even more.

Some of the shit people post online look like rags compared to his bespoke. The man is the most gifted artist i've ever seen. l'm not allowed to say anymore. He never ever takes photo's of his work and he never allows clients to post pics because it's none of outsiders business, only the clients who have the experience wearing the suit: he doesn't want stupid igents or try-hard tailors saying dumb stuff about his suits when most have no clue (his words).

l can't afford his best stuff, but l will never go to anyone else. l'd rather get his MTM than get good bespoke for cheaper from another tailor.

He always laughs at the enthusiasm for bespoke on the forums. He always says, "why do you want bespoke for?" Then l tell him my reason and he laughs again. Then l show him the forums and the bespoke and he laughs again. Then l tell him that bespoke is better and he laughs at me again. He laughs at the American guy's enthusiasm for bespoke; l still haven't been able to work out why. lol
