Gentleman...as I stated in my post the suit has had only ONE fitting and needs to be looked at by Mr Mahon. I also said in my post it "is RAW and just out of the box never worn and certainly never pressed". This is what happens when a photo is lifted reposted and taken out of context.

No nice drape at all in the trousers and coat, they have a mind of there own. Michelin man sleaves
, the chest is pulling out, bad collar (similar to alot of Saville Row stuff l see posted online), and messy body. Still...if he's not paying too much it's not too bad. l do enjoy his enthusiasm for clothes and he comes across as a good bloke.
The real idiots are the people paying 6K+ for suits that still have major problems (eg, many Rubinacci clients).
On a positive side, the Michelin man sleaves make NYR look more intimidating and tough, probably good for the hood areas haha.![]()

You never mentioned if you chose that fabric or if your tailor did.

He was sure worried about those socks. And good thing, too! They almost ruined what was otherwise a flawless outfit.

He obviously doesn't have many clothes so he put on all his best stuff that he owns. Doesn't matter if the colour scheme doesn't match, he has got a pocketsquare so he is very well dressed, right?

He is just following the Ask Andy rule, the shit that Andy spouts out about sox matching the colour of the "pant". Pthhh, how bleedin' dull. ![]()
This thread is an eye opener, though I want to close mine. I've learned a Prisoner of War check ( cheque for igents) should avoid bright half assed linings unless used inside out as signaling panels when lost on the Pennines at nightfall. I must ask my optometrist where I can buy Putin contact lens. My friends, I saw 4 letters; AAAC when I looked into them. The Peter Lorre character in The Maltese Falcon lives on. At least I don't have to smell his EDT- probably Pinaud lilac.
Bookster's hacking jacket is a regional phenomenon kept alive in KENTUCKY where the 'Park Horse' ideal of exaggerated gait and surgically set and ginger agitated ground length tail pieces are paired with a saddle bouncing on the mount's kidneys. The equally exaggerated riding toggs complete the 'presentation.' In western parlance this is a 'shadow rider' or somebody admiring their own cut against the sun instead of attending to business. This is why they have ticket pockets for a fast escape via train or Zeppelin when fired.
In fairness, friend Peter King started out selling vintage tweeds on EBAY after the Mad Cow tragedy took his herd. As a horseman, Peter found a niche market and trotted with it. Peter has slowly added to the patterns. A potential client can in fact 'rent' a jacket to check basic parameters and if a local tailor of skill is consulted a decent fit on the first try obtainable. Peter is very eager to remedy problems. If clients put more thought into fit instead of working cuffs the result is far more worthy than the $35 EBAY Harris monstrosities with the cut and paste history of Harris to impress the iBidder.
Again, a usefull thread to help me avoid tar Baby clothing choices.

^No doubt a sexual deviant. I wouldn't leave him alone with the Chesterfield settee, a pair of rubber gloves and a full tub of swarfega for a minute.
You can almost smell the stale sperm intermingled with parrot droppings on the persian carpet from here.

You mean, aside from the incongruity of a triple-patch-pocket sport coat garnished with peak lapels?

He's fucked that up by putting patch pockets on it, which is a shame as it's otherwise a nice coat. I don't mind the cloth, even though I see it more as a suit cloth even without the over check.

Yes + right side of the coat looks messy.

A welting problem with some person's Cleverley bespoke shoos:![]()
See how the `hidden stitch' is revealed where the uppers touch the welt. Bad workmanship.

This is dreadful. Pants are too dark. Jacket is cheap looking both fabric and construction. That buttonhole is damaging to the "look". Pockets re poorly designed and badly set in. Dont know why the jacket is longer in the front on one side but I hope that's not permanent. Shirt and pocket square look bad with this. A very thrifted look.

Those shoes are weird looking. Talk about trying too hard. Pants may be OK. Jacket pattern is, meh.

A touch harsh. I don't mind the coat but the patch pockets are wrong with those lapels IMNSHP
Interesting that you picked up on the button hole. My tailor doesn't put them on SBPL sportscoats either.

Yeah, well thats too bad. ive been pussyfooting with people for too long about their clothes. The clothes jungle is an eat and be eaten kind of place. Better for this one to take his knocks now and wear something that wont get him a table by the dirty plates or the bathroom.
Yes, Nino leaves them out on SB peaks too. I didnt like it at first, saw the stylish logic behind it and now like it. It also drives anal retentives who only know about clothes from some old books and old skool dinosaurs crazy. Just an added bonus.

A man should be able to do a lot of things, including back up his threats.
Did he ever post the rest of of his Rubinacci collection? I've been awaiting that spectacle eagerly.
