Quite sunny here now...

Elaine is playing with her johnny bags and I'm about to step out for a fag.

Do please say Hi if you see me today & take all the photos you want.

I've got Black Eastland Beefrolls on!

Re: The Ivy Modculture Thread Rides Again...

Isn't Wi-Fii great?

Moving on from breakfast we are now down the boozer for lunch.

Young Elaine will have no Johnnies left if she keeps on putting them on chair legs...

Amazingly we have done a ton of work today just by not being in the office playing CDs and drinking Vodka. It may even be cheaper not to have an office - I must cost it out.

The sun continues to shine.

Yes, I also find all this 'I am a professional' stuff to be decidedly low rent. Why boast about having to hustle for money?

I value the freedom of doing this for fun...

Upstairs in 'Boston Tea Party' this morning - Do say Hi if you are passing.

The sun shines & Elaine is shifting around on her chair in a moist fidgety way. I will not ask, and pray she does not tell, how she got on last night.

Just like a good Uncle should.

Basic Wine Pennies on today - Bass, Wilton, Maine - Never improved on.

Time for a fag -

Re: The Ivy Modculture Thread Rides Again...

... Another fun thing is Trads who are sniffy about Mods & Skins...

Skins date back to 1969 with roots going back to '63/'64.

Mods/Modernists can trace themselves back to The Birth Of The Cool in '49 if not before.

The AAAC 'Trad' take only goes back to 2004. A rehash of 1981's 'Preppy'.

So maybe that's why they try to be all 'attitudy' - Because they know they have nothing but a shite online trolled-to-death message board to back up their newly invented take. They just don't have any tradition - That all belongs to those who came before them.

No?

Re: The Ivy Modculture Thread Rides Again...

They're laughing at the ivy stuff you can get in Urban Outfitters at the moment...

It's all just a snobbery thing. The sort of ridiculous elitism that means you lose out. It's positively tradly!

If you know what you're looking for, some of the stuff in Urban Outfitters is great! Gant shirts with the union stamps, shirts from Enro(Austin's sold those, right?) and Arrow and others. Brogues/loafers from Florsheim and Hanover, sweaters from American mills and the list goes on.

God - I think GG's views on mods have rubbed off on me...
