Sadly, I have. And for a very long time, I was under the sad misguided impression, that's where it was at.
I remember reading somewhere that the man himself was quite taken Ralph Lauren.
The man has stocked vintage Ralphie in recent years.
Well, yeah. I don't have any special feelings for RL. I think he's an interesting person as far as it goes. His clothes in their current incarnation (outside some of the premium stuff) are terrible. He may very well be an interesting designer, I know McNairy mentions him a lot as well. I have little to no interest in the brand names and the personalities behind them. I wish others felt the same. It really is just clothes. An Oxford shirt by any other name..
Whilst I do have an affection for those old ivy brands, if I see any item that interests me, the fact that it might not be produced by them would not put me off buying it.
