The heroes move on, quietly, without egos, no waxed moustaches for them, or the constant striving for self promotion and egoism.
Their's is the Ivy-playing field and all the OCBD's and weejuns within it.
Chenners will run out of steam very quickly now, can't you wind him up again, Jim?
Otherwise, he will have to seek out the next new thing, the next band wagon he can jump on and make his fame and career. And what then, the museum exhibition, the famed Pulitzer Prize winning book with Boyers?
In Chinny-Chenners last post, indeed it may yet prove to be the very last utterance on the cad's blog, was that he aligned himself with the professionals and rampant commercialism. Failing to contemplate that he has made absolutely sweet F.A. from his blog.
He also fails abysmally to realise that this is a vocational mission and esprit de corps, not a fashion trend to be hijacked for mere profit.
It is befitting the boy, that at the height of his professional and commercial peak, he suddenly ceases to blog having run out of free copy. Surely, a professional organisation such as his, has other sources than stealing from archives of Life? Isn't he making that much money, he can mobilise his own team of professional photographers and stylists?
Why not try the Smithsonian Institute? A non-profit organisation that probably have some photos too. I dunno', he could make like Andy Warhol and take library books out and never return them, lest anyone reveals the actual source. The possibilities exist, Chenners just needs to keep sneaking around like Smeagol and he will find a rich vein to mine or suck dry like a vampire.
How did I miss all this gossip?
Oh yes, that's right: I never read his blog.
I guess that is the end of the road for Miss Chris. Next I think he should jump on the "urban lumberjack & American workwear" bandwagon, since he's always a few steps behind the trends, not in front of them. He will have to grow a beard, of course.
... Well, it's been a week now, Chens... After all that time we expect to be wowed by your next offering.
Chris is there alright as he's still approving those comments he approves of for his blog. Just more tosh about Richard from WASP 101.
Get on with it, Son!
Do excuse my ignorance, but why do you all hate the Wasp101 character?
You`ve only got to look at today`s offerings to see what a pratt he is.
I've just had an exchange of emails with Richard of WASP 101 and he does actually know more about his subject than Mr. Chensvold.
Mr. Chensvold recycles the work of others whereas Richard presents his own work.
Mr. C.'s 'professionalism' is merely the exploitation of the subject on which he blogs. He has no real knowledge of or feel for the topic he writes about, he just wants to cash-in on it, as he has now quite openly said so himself.
Richard's blog is a hobby regarding things he loves & has loved for quite a while now. A very different thing.
That Richard is having a lot of fun there is no doubt. For Chesvold his blog is work.
And I must laugh at the idea of a 'Professional blogger'!
On a tangential note can anyone remember which one of the Ivy blogs featured an exhaustive survey of the hot dog stands in Chicago and Madison?
^I seem to remember that, wasn't that Affordable Wardrobe chap? No, he's not so bad, but his blog has started to go the same way as the others.
Tony was getting close to the mark, Miss Chens will grow a beard, he's done it before, on one of his photos on Dandyism he use to sport one behind a very ruddy face. I thought he was a plonkie at the time. At least the beard hides his double chin.
What next? Time running out Mr C, options becoming less and less. One day, a real job interview awaits, all those embarrassing gaps on your CV. No references because you've never been employed, no distinguishing achievements other than a lifetime ban from Life magazine.
Also at a slight tangent......Just spotted Heavy Tweed Jacket is open to all again.
At last an update from Miss Chris!
And I like it!
Now I want more.
To work with him!

Me, from an interesting exchange with Richard:
"I honestly believe that the so called Commercial / Professional bloggers are a bad thing. It's the same with the Commercial / Professional message boards & forums - What started out as being something by enthusiasts for enthusiasts becomes twisted when money gets involved.
Chensy's desire to dominate the subject of Ivy online and push out the real enthusiasts just so he can make money is a good example of this. Especially when he knows & cares so little about the subject - For him the blog could just as well be about Gardening."
I think also that AAAC's & SF's desire to dominate the MBs & push out the real enthusiasts' sites (FNB!) is just the same.
Money!
Blogging & MBs started out as 'fans for fans' projects. Then along came all the shits sensing they could make a buck out of it all & we get all the self-serving dross we now get.
Not good.
Long live the Independents!
Let Freedom ring!
Jim, just drop it. Miss Chris and Fat Richard are both idiots and not worth your time.
Chinny-Chenner's follows the philosophy of GET'S - Good Enough to Steal. It is the former, but by posting this, it may yet become the latter.
