A new fun theory is that 'Jinx' is 'Harris'. I doubt it. Merely an echo of 'Harris.'

The Urban Dictionary has some interesting entries for Trad.

Jovan is a member here & back on SF in the old days made the point that the 'Trad Men' thread on AAAT was all really Ivy as it was pre-'Trad'.

He PMs, but I bet he couldn't post here without a lot of very heavy frowns from his boss.

A pity.

They should use this chance.

Two interesting definitions from Urban Dictionary for "Trad":
1. Traditional; typically used in the context of clothing, grooming, and other aspects of one's personal presentation. An item is "trad" if it either (a) was manufactured during the relevant time period, usually the 1930s through 1950s, or (b) is a modern item with design aspects inherited from or complementary with that time period.
2. Synonymous with 'cliche' this 21st century slang term is used to demean and taunt someone/something that is repetitive, unoriginal, uninspired, generic comes from the word traditional in its negative conotation

And "Ivy League" gets this mention:
Reffering to all strains of marijuana, mostly those of high quality.

There's nothing wrong with nostalgia, until it becomes a morbid obsession. The Victorians considered nostalgia a mental illness. And the Brazilians, with saudade, have turned it into a state of zen like grace.

What intrigues me, as a lover of music, is Trad's total lacking in any musical foundation or conviction. They don't acknowledge or seem to even have heard of Louis Armstrong's Hot Fives and Sevens, Bix Beiderbecke, Teagarden, Okeh or Good Time Jazz record labels and the original grand daddy of Trad revival, Lu Watters. And this is the music, by sartorial etiquette and vision, the Trad is most closely aligned with.

Indeed, when asked a straight forward question, what music do you like, the Trad and his avatar will vanish into the ether.

Both are enriched by the other.  And if music be the food of love let it play on....

Individuals who cannot appreciate music, should be mistrusted and regarded as enemies.

Exactly, up until I should have grown out of such persuasion, my first question was always 'what music do you listen to?'

I still believe, inherently, you can judge a man, by three things alone; his music collection, his library and the shine on his shoes.

Everything that needs to be said has been said.

That's the essence of those traditionally dressed men.

All the rest is vanity, repeated vanity.

But why would that be a bad thing?
