Left leg or right leg in the pants first?
Also, the pants have a little window in them right at the front framed by a zipper. Could I wear a pocket square in there and show it casually overflowing?
What would best signal that I was one of them hoity folks?
My thanks in advance, re: my pants.
St. James Street.
Mmmmmmmmm.................
Do not forget to wear pants. Otherwise, it's not a suit (by definition).
Serious question: Should I tuck my jacket into my pants?
My thanks to all -
Definitely so! But ONLY when you put your left leg in your pants first, otherwise it would be highly unappropriate!
Sure, but also tuck your trousers in your socks. It's the old cavalry style to prevent the jacket hitting your eye while you are attacking. The Americans invented the button down jacket, but that's wishy washy.
Only a pity for the pelican, but you can always wear those nice ear squares.
I suggest wearing both jacket and trousers backwards.
Tucking the entire pant leg in is as great a faux pas as buttoning the bottom suit button ( only the top button on a 3/2 gets done up). Tuck pants into the fronts of the socks but let the backs drag. They should be a sufficient length to pick up mud and leaves, or as they are called in napoli, sprezzatura.
If the shirt is under the jacket it could hide your snazzy cufflinks from Men's Metals.
