Removing tags from G9s

Has anyone done this?  Much as I detest the tags, I'm concerned that if I cut them off, a white line will remain from where the tag has been sewn in, and this line could look even worse than the tag (horrific thought).

Obviously if I was a real face I'd have a complete G9 collection from before tags were introduced, but I'm afraid I'm not that cool.

Pull the seam as far open as you can. Slide a ruler under the tag. Slice along the top of the tag with a craft knife / Stanley knife / scalpel. Mind your fingers!

The more open you pull the seam & the higher you slice, the better the result.

Does the G9 now have a tag on the outside of the jacket?

Thanks, a good explanation, I'll attempt it once I've found my/bought a new scalpel.

The Fred Perry laurel range has a G9 clone that is made in England. It is probably made by Baracuta, or the same factory, but does not have a logo on the front. See http://www.stuartslondon.com/product/FRED%20PERRY%20LAUREL/Fred%20Perry%20Laurel/Harrington%20Jacket%20%20Navy%20Made%20in%20England/#.
