Chums,,
Is there any topic that inspires more hand--wringing amongst the iGentry than Blazers?
Are they too nautical,, are brass buttons too flashy,, are bone buttons more casual,, etc.,etc.? How many inane posts have been inspired by such a simple item??
What could be easier than throwing on a well tailored blazer, what?
They look good with everything, what with the possible exception of navy pants. Flannels, khakis, jeans, why not. And any shirt short of a formal. Wear it over a polo, oxford, jumper.
I suggest there is no more useful piece of ivy kit.
Look at these blokes. Elegant, sporty....cool.

sure, that's good stuff! didn't look at AAAT for ages... never thought that Alden Pyle dug Pete Terrace... the Trads gettin' hip to the Mambo...
Nice to see Robert Oppenheimer in there. "Now I have become Death, destroyer of worlds (in a sack coat)."
I had an old navy blue flannel Hector Powe (circa 1971), which I foolishly gave away after putting on weight. "Sir has a bit of a tummy", quoth John Simons, wielding tape-measure. The Brooks blazer I had I simply didn't get on with, and wouldn't now.
The Brooks blazers I got through Shamrockmonkey are superb, the antithesis of the iGent blazer - succincitly cool, understated with a whiff of the urbane as opposed to nautical games on the Manchester Ship Canal.
