Damned if I can find mine. I think Staceyboy is a fan of these. So, perhaps, was John Simons.
I remember seeing a picture of him with a BOAC flight bag on the old J Simons website.
Finding a decent bag for everyday is surprisingly hard, for me
what is a flight bag? a large man-purse?
Large bags, with handles or shoulder straps, advertising some (often defunct) airline or other. Get all your dirty washing into it. Also known as 'holdalls', similar to those carried by Northern Soul fans for All-Nighters.
ah. carryon bags/gym bags.
Good to see that again. I'd like to get some more of him on here, including those from Facebook.
Now the big rush is on to find miniture trumpets... Just like J.S's!
I'm starting a new thread: Miniture brass instuments in Ivy.
I've found a great pic of Steve McQueen holding his tiny trombone...
oh do post! haha
re. the flight bags - there was a company doing a full range of repro's with all the old defunct airline logos etc.
Damned if I can find the link.
they probably originate from Japan (as usual)!
I flogged two boacs a few months back.. I didnt realise any one on here would be into them.
There's a lot of 'retro' style rubbish about, but the old stuff seems to fetch quite decent money. The sooner this 'shabby chic' nonsense disappears up its own arsehole the better.
mine were og 60's. Ah..you never know till ya ask eh.
Awful stuff. For Merc modernists. Didn't realise we had some of them on here.
Didn't realise John Simons was a Merc modernist.
I could answer that back in the day, blah blah, different context, rhubarb rhubarb, would never dare to insult the great John Simons, etc etc.
On the other hand, I don't know the man, so ... maybe he is.
Jeez. Get a grip, RRP.

I think Ian Strachan may have driven a Merc.
Perhaps. I was referring to that well-known purveyor of mod tat on Carnaby Street- rhymes, not entirely coincidentally, with 'berk'.
