Marc Bolan

I was never that much into him, although my best mate at junior school was (before he discovered Genesis and all that 'prog' shite).  He was just there when I was twelve and thirteen, as one of the background noises as we puffed away on our Number Six and made hay with a couple of girls who were willing to strip (heavy petting stuff, not all the way - too risky).  It was only much later I realised he'd been a scooter-riding mod etc.

Was he an important part of that North London/Soho/East End Jewish mod scene?  Or did he just make out he was?

I was sorry when he was killed, though - sorrier than I was when Elvis died.
