It's not that I mind so much having parted with items of clothing - some of them have found safe havens, I know, like the circa 1950 Press sport jacket Gibson Gardens had off me via Ebay (needed a taller guy to pull it off) - but that I sometimes can't remember where they went or why... Two great overcoats for example, one in Irish tweed the other fly-fronted Italian wool and cashmere I once wore on a trip to J.Simons... a pair of strides he once sold me... a circa 1970 Hector Powe flannel blazer... The list goes on. Has this happened to you? As for shoes...
Oh yes, and a terrific dark green Smedley sea island cotton polo shirt which cost me next to nothing...
Mm. It was John Simons who tipped me off about Troy, and I had no option but to go rushing to Ebay.
I found one, together with a Sero half sleeve. I still have the Sero.
Second attempt brought better luck - aside from the colour. I really missed out on that one.
Makes me love old Brooks all the more.
