Re: Signing Off

Don't go Rip.

These are clearly trying times, what with Russell's current indisposition.

Time to re-think, re-invigorate and rally, surely?

Re: Signing Off

As I mentioned elsewhere, perhaps making five or less new threads a day would be easier on the attention-span challenged modern men?

There is still a lot to talk about, reminisce about, think about.

Quality over quantity, perhaps?

One could always consider it a duty to Capt'n Street while he's below decks huffing radioactive gin.

It's been a pleasure Mr Panic, remember you can be a part of this without being as busy as you have been of late so feel free to reconsider.

Re: Signing Off

Rip, you gotta stay here!

I'm sure that you still got a lot of good stuff, both about American/ Ivy topics and about British/ Mod topics...

I have to admit I was quite surprised to see all this Mod stuff over here... from the new incarnation of the mod bashing chetmiles/ ISR... but you're doing a great job! I think it's not a bad thing, if the "Trads" read about Little Anthony & The Imperials or David Hemmings... just like the "Mods" should read about Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra or about Woody Allen... anything that broadens the horizon must be a good thing!

Re: Signing Off

Especially as to Troll was WAY below just to 'Cruise'.

Trolling was always to seek out a target in the darkest & dankest of Gents.

... So the name fits the Internet very well!

wink

Re: Signing Off

Also - The Troll picked up was the target of Trolling. The one who Trolled was not the Troll. Trolling was just the name for picking up & fucking over Trolly 'Trade' in really rank bogs.

When you 'Cruise', 'Trade' is 'Kleenex' - use them once & throw them away.

Is this slang still current?

Re: Signing Off

Just a random thought.  Remember Robinsons?  I used to go to the pictures in Deansgate with an old queen who ran a shop in their basement.  Nothing so jolly as watching a film like 'Mad Max 2' or 'An Officer And A Gentleman' in such company!  Then we'd go to 'Stuffed Olives', that downstairs gay bar.

I don't know that 'Kleenex' expression.

Was going to PM this, but I thought we'd share these Madchester memories with 'Big' Tony.

Why do they call him 'Big' Tony BTW?
