Vanity.

The loss of vanity and the infantile ego has to be the most spiritually purifying thing that a person can ever undergo.

Even as human beings we are more when we are less. Just like the best of designs.

No longer eloquent...
No longer cute...
No longer energetic...

The serial losses of age make us the best we can be, as we become physically the worst we will ever be.

So here's to that Age Of Man which is beyond boasting & striving & posing, and is just about being, sharing and enjoying.

Re: Vanity.

I've just read a critique of the 'less is more' ethos: in architecture and design.

What are you doing out of your nightcap?

That school, including Johnson, were seen as being a little 'totalitarian', to use that outmoded term of 1950s political scientists.
