Vintage Desert Boots

Does anyone (in the UK preferably) know where a pair can be bought that look like they might survive being worn on ops by a member of the LRDG?  I don't even mind looking at some retard re-enactment site if they've got something someone like The Weejun thinks are worth having.  My others are still going strong; it's just that I'd like something far sturdier for, say, long-distance travel.

Re: Vintage Desert Boots

the retard reenactment site i mentioned in the other (knitwear? cant remember) thread has some for 70 bucks. higher topped, soles sturdier rubber rather than crepe.

EDIT: you can also buy genuine WWI kilt rigs and unused RCAF flares. there appear to be people with even less to do than us.

EDIT #2 : I was investigating the officer shoes on behalf of someone and the owner responds to any question at any time of day or night within about 8 minutes. Anticipating your question, the stuff is made to his specs in mexico.

Re: Vintage Desert Boots

probably not necessary, unless youre worried about customs. the guy claims to be the largest retard/reenactment supplier in the world, and ships from the UAE and holland, though his personal command bunker appears to be in california. i think someone on here ordered mc queen in great escape stylee suede boots, is how i heard about it. forget how they felt about them, might want to do a search before ordering.

Re: Vintage Desert Boots

on the other hand the best looking ones ive seen in person are at j crew. made in italy, we think by astorflex. rounder toe, no cheesy fake stitching etc. like seen on cheaper models.
