Re: Marsh and Gaul interviewed

Doesn't make him any less of a 'liberal Democrat', does it?  The title of the posting was, I think, about his damaged shoe.  Fuck's sake, I had to come up with something in the brief interval between snorting coke and getting my hood on for the KKK meeting.  Daley?  Mm, tell JG you're possibly not an Obama man, then, but could have been a fledgling 'Reagan Democrat'.  Everyone at the time thought Goldwater was nuts, to the point where the Democrats launched a dirty tricks campaign against him.

Re: Marsh and Gaul interviewed

At least I know who to blame now for not being able to find an American made polo shirt.

Ironic that the USMC seem to have theirs made in Pakistan.

I have no objection to polemic by the way, John.  I've spent enough time reading guys like Carr, Thompson and Hobsbawm not to care.

Re: Marsh and Gaul interviewed

It is bad enough telling Yanks about their clothes, without lecturing them on their politicians on their website.

I would imagine it will really piss them off.

That said, I always thought the president was a front man, a public face and the back room team called most of the shots.

I wouldn't imagine pissing off the Yanks would bother you any.

I'm not telling them about their clothes.  I'm forever waiting for them to tell me.

LOL!  This is bingo a la Bertrand Russell, Dennis.  Why should I give money away to the church when I could be buying Lee Riders from you?

Masturbation does aid restful sleep.  The English also have hot milky drinks, like Horlicks.  They can also rely upon The Collected Sayings Of Jimmy Carter or a handful of sleeping pills.

Re: Marsh and Gaul interviewed

I sometimes get the impression Americans have not yet recovered from McCarthy.  Joe or the other one?  I find it highly amusing that well-meaning but dopy left wing friends of mine are horrified that beats like Kerouac at least though McCarthy had a point or two to make, even if he didn't make them very elegantly.

Re: Marsh and Gaul interviewed

The interview was enough to make me buy my copy and I'm looking forward to receiving it.  If only to place that wonderful discussion in context!

I'm assuming from the posts Shamrockmonkey is the Chicago-based shopping service? (Apologies I'm new!)  If so I'd love you to post url and/or contacts.
