Took delivery this morning of an American made pair of Converse All Stars. Cheap and absolutely cheerful. I'm having an old pair of Jack Purcell for my 51st birthday. Second childhood stuff, like the Silver Age Superman comics I so enjoyed re-reading a year or two ago.
This is not a dig at Shooman - he likes his quality stuff and fair do's - but just a personal statement. I'm going to be found this year and next in Shaggy Dog, khakis and sneakers. Big Tony 'comfy', requiring little or no effort.
Nothing wrong with that. I have always wanted a Shaggy Dog but have been unsure of sizing........
Ah, now the worrying thing is, Fred, I'm normally an American M and this 'un is an American L. Fits nicely... but I'm on a bloody diet!
I'm normally an American M too. Apparently different years have different fits, right?
Russell Street knows better than I. I think so, yes.
What'd you get Rip, navy low top Converse?
Dress old when young, young when old.
This type of rubber soled leisure shoe had been around long before Vans started making them.
Didn't Keds produce a similar model before the war even? Help us out you knowledgeable bunch.
