Re-release of Plastic Ono Band.
Also Exile on Main Street. Been listening to this almost daily.

Bruce Springsteen: Tunnel of Love.
My personal favourite album from The Boss.
Released in '87, Jesus, seems like yesterday.
The Wild, The Innocent, and The E-Street Shuffle has to be right up there. "Diamond Jackie/She's soooo intact . . ."
Diggin' the scene with a gangsta lean myself:

Boats and birds, the acoustic guitar version. Its great when you're reading
... It kinds of put you in the mellow zone
Two classics from a [popular] musician I consider to be amongst the best, if not the best of the last 30 years. Prince.
Purple Rain
&
Parade/Under the Cherry Moon.

l really need to get some of his stuff so l can see what all the fuss is about. Never had much to do with him.
One of my old favourites Arch Enemy. Death metal purists may laugh and call me a big pussy but l still like this band to reasonable levels, but it doesn't match the great d.m bands. Old Carcass influences in lead guitar of course.
What's even more amazing is that the bands vocalist is a female. This is a great record.

Something for real extreme metal purists, Wormed. Not as good as the top bands but great writing and nice unique vocals.

lt's probably not most peoples taste, but i've always liked this band.
Now what the hell is going on around here? John Lennon's 70th birthday comes and goes, and nary a peep or a fare-thee-well? Rubbish:

l keep track of these things. John lennon also has something in common with my hero Dimebag Darrel, both music legends were both shot on December 8.

Best John Lennon song was Jealous Guy. Those violins and piano/keyboard were always memorable and always set the mind on fire. lt's one of the few simply written songs where you could play it 50 times in a row and never get sick of playing it; l can't say that about too many John Lennon or Beatles songs (playing there records once every 5 years is enough for me, but l do appreciate what they did).
On a seperate note: i've never really been into too much radio friendly mainstream music.....always gets me bored very very quickly.

You'll note that I did not include Imagine in my Lennon compendium. But enough of the dead limeys. Let's hear from a dead Saturnian:

Link doesn't work in my country (?)
I'm out of the loop on who killed who and didn't know there was a decade of grunge... I never liked grunge. But I love this album.
And now I'll move on to Bach's 4 Orchestal Suites...

One of the best songs ever by a great band. Me like grunge music.
I did mention Plastic Ono Band re-release up top.. Just sayin'
I do prefer his work with the Beatles though, particularly Revolver and beyond, and actually think one of their finest albums was Let it Be, even though the mainstream probably thinks otherwise..
Coincidentally, had Nirvana's Incesticide on in the car today.. Very rarely does a cover sound better to me than the original, but their covers of Son of a Gun and Molly's Lips on that album are far better than the original Vaseline's versions..

I had the pleasure of having lived in the Pacific northwest in the late 80s/early 90s and saw the band many times in those days.. At their worst, they were still one of the finest bands I have heard on so many levels..
