Artist: David Bowie

Album: Black Tie White Noise.

Year: 1993.

This was, in my opinion, his last good album...

The Complete Roulette Live Recordings of Count Basie and His Orchestra (1959-1962) on Mosaic.

With headphones on you pick-up some interesting back chat amongst the band, you don't get this with the bands of Ellington and Kenton.

Il Trovatore

"Florid, smug, middle-aged golf club bore in this country I'd say. Propping up the 19th hole in deepest Surrey bemoaning the perils of immigration."

Read an article on Wall Street Journal about Big Star, went to ITunes and bought their first album. Had any one here heard them?

And specially for FNB:

http://youtu.be/WIKqgE4BwAY

It's death metal- with a trio of hyperkinetic dancing and singing pop girls. The song is about chocolate. The opening lyrics are:

"Atatata taata taatatata zukkyun.
Watatata taata taatatata dokkyun.
Zukyun. Dokyun. Zukyun. Dokyun."

Still scratching my head.

Re: What Music Are You Listening to at the Moment...[AKA the Music thread]

Theres a bunch of people out here live at the moment - but I'm not as up with it as I used to be on which old farts are past it and going through the motions and which are still hot. Any hints?

Dr John + Aaron Neville together.
Robben Ford
Sly & Robbie +Wailers  - I cant seem to see who is in the Wailers now. Family Man?
Larry Graham
Doobie Bros - who is left?
Buddy Guy
Booker T Jones
Greg Allman

K C and Sunshine band plus WAR
KC is not my thing but I just love WAR and especially the Live double LP - can anyone give me any info on if they're are any good these days and who is in the lineup?

Willy De Ville -LIVE - (and LOUD) yet again.

Easily high in the Top 10 LIVE albums ever.

Such a crying shame hes never really been given the acknowledgement he deserves.

There is no justice or meritocracy in the commercial music world.

RIP Willy.

American March "Our Director"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liay7mn7OuQ

A beauty, gets good at 1:11. Need to play it on ANZAC day for the soldiers. Used to play it at school too.

Better start getting my horn out and blowing the buggery out of it in the shed. wink I'll pull it out this arvo and will probably sound like a busted fart, but over the next cuple of weeks i'll start sounding like a little beauty.
