Speaking of which, this girl at the bar reached out and pulled my tie from above the knot way down my shirt telling me I would do better with her if I undid it. You should have warned her that if she touches your tie again you'll have to tie her up with it...

I think it more likely that in spite of her innocent looks, she would do the tying up...which is even better.

That's one of the pleasures of wearing Duchamp ties, you just know that you are going to get up someone's nose, which is its own reward. lol

What's your opinion on that jacket?

You (as well as FNB) wear Duchamp ties? They don't get up my nose, just hurt my conservative eyes. I know a several people (politicians and journalists) who wear Duchamp and they are all gay.

I like a lot of Cifonelli's work. I think it will be appeal to younger men, which can only be a good thing for bespoke tailors. They are also another source for inspiration. Once you've covered the basics several times, you need to experiment a little. smile

Yes, I have several, mostly the floral ones. I also have more than a few of their Satin striped shirts too and no I'm not gay. They're just ties, that's all. You either like them or you don't. I've never noticed any correlation between tie choice and sexuality though.

Re: When bespoke works right

My bespoke Drakes ties came today, they are splendid. Minimum order of three, I went for two in silk and the third one in cashmere. The fabrics in their store were already cut to size for the making of a tie. After a couple of days I received an email informing me that there wasn't enough cloth in one of the silks for my tie. I was asked if there was another cloth I'd like used or would I rather have a refund.
I must admit I was a little miffed as the cloth in question I really wanted to go with a new suit. The cloth was a sky blue silk with a small navy and white pattern. I couldn't remember seeing anything similar on offer in the store, non the less I asked. I was informed there wasn't, but there maybe at their factory. The sales person (Alexandra) then sent me another email the next day with six pictures attached of silk cloths in sky with a blue and white patterned design. The pattern I picked from those I prefer to my first choice.
    Tip top product and service.

Sadly, you don't get many women in the clubs of St. James's. The biggest problem with the company gay men is their bitchiness and misogyny. And I don't sit at the edge of the room judging people. Such people are so loud and attention-seeking that you can't avoid noticing them.

It was a tie I wore with a blazer out. I got a little hen pecked about it by a chick. I think it was both chickens and roosters; so there were definitely some cocks mixed in. I assure you they were arranged in a way that wasn't completely fowl.

I didn't notice them to be honest, I only focused on the tailor. British tailors would tend to cut the sleeves on the jacket a touch longer, the shirt sleeves are about right to my eyes.

The x" amount of shirt cuff showing is an iGent myth.

The jacket sleeves are too short, even if you want to show some cuff. Are the buttons just oddly reflecting the light or is this some new trend to use metall?
