Re: Napoli Tailoring

I don't find it pretentious myself, just prefer the sleeve without the ruffle. I hope my selected tailor matches any checks or stripes up better on the collar/lapel otherwise theres going to be tears at pay time, and there not going to be mine!

Indeed Mr Grayson, much to learn. I shall avoid any such Plaid patterns then when selecting my fabric. Thank you.

Re: Napoli Tailoring

I don't know about now, but Gennaro Solito was know to be a 24hr tailor, like the ones in Hong Kong
catering to the tourists.

The workmanship at Rubinacci is quite poor for the price you are paying.  Milan made garments are
probably worth it.

Nunzio Pirozzi made me a great jacket with great workmanship but it is just too regional and almost tacky
to have business suits made by him (or any other tailors in Naples in general).

The only non-tacky Neapolitan house is probably Cesare Attolini (Factory made).  I went directly to the
factory and had fittings and bought suits at great deals but I don't know how much they will charge you these days.

For me, A, T&J Caraceni, Campagna (D. Caraceni), De Luca, and Pecora are the Italian best if you are forking
out top dollars.

Re: Napoli Tailoring

I find nothing daunting about having a suit made Mr. Grayson, rather I'm quite looking forward to it. Now If I had to sew a button on something that would be daunting I admit but to have something made for me by a craftsman is something I really don't find daunting at all. I don't feel I need to know so much about the in's and out's of making a suit. I know what I want and what pleases my eyes. I am a young man, perhaps our tastes differ because of our ages? I've always had an interest in clothing but I neither come from a wealthy background or have a high flying job. I am just the bastard offspring of British working class parents. Perhaps you feel bespoke is something that shouldn't be enjoyed by the likes of oiks like myself sir?
Crocheting? The working classes stopped doing that when the Televison was invented. You stick to your stag hunting in your Russell jackets and leave the wearing of the more modern gear on a saturday night to us mere oiks Captain Good Taste.
