Re: Court Dress

Don't be stupid Marc. How can you call someone out for not doing something you won't do yourself? Do you behave like this in real life?

Anyway, there it is. You and I both know that I've got under your skin. You're furious and I - although tired - have been amused. As a pastime, however, it gets old quick because you have nothing to say about clothes, which is why I'm here. You post pictures of stuff you've bought and the only thing you're proud of is the expense. I haven't seen anything original or particularly stylish from you. You wear a sort of cod-English version of country wear. The check shirts are lovely fabrics but utterly divorced from their original intention which was to be hard-wearing and to have a colour scheme that suited the country and didn't frighten the horses. I suspect the jacket fabrics are the same but who knows with the pictures you've posted? It's a second-hand style which I see all around me in its proper context. In the city it's only ok if you've never seen the original. The city shirts are standard - beautiful fabric but neither daring nor impressively discreet. They are the patterns and colours worn by hundreds of people every day and there is nothing to show that you make them look like anything special.

It's standard, in short. Of course I'm sure it cost lots of money. But that doesn't equate to taste. You wouldn't look crap all dressed up, but so what? You can manage that via Filene's Basement. Of course the fit might make all the difference but we aren't going to see it. As it stands it's nothing but a big cheque. That clearly impresses you but I suspect it doesn't cut much ice with anyone else (always accepting the Crud).

Anyway, it's late here in the mother country and I have things to do tomorrow so I'm turning in. It's been fun. I don't normally deal with idiots save in a professional context and tonight has been a salutary reminder of why I'm glad of that. My professional antennae says you're worried and I make my living by relying on them. Too much shouting and not enough substance. Too much attack whilst ignoring your own contradictory remarks. And no ability to grasp an olive branch: people like you always think that it's weakness to offer one.

Re: Court Dress

I thought I ought to say it because it's a genuine concern. Now I have. I'm perfectly happy to talk about court dress. Otherwise I think we're done.

Re: Court Dress

I can confirm all that Grossgrain Silk says. Although Raphael is angelic and a decent tailor of basic suits.

And - Mr Grayson - I wouldn't be talking wee-wee sizes in front of the ALL KNOWING. Capice?

God was a white rabbit.
But seems that he have abandoned his people.
Sometime i ask to me why don't punishes the sinners.
Maybe a new deluge is necessary.

Re: Court Dress

Grossy - I'd be interested to hear/see what the juries/ witnesses /defendants are observed to wear in a typical case.
