And I don't think you will notice it the next 100 years...
There are a lot of haircuts that are just as nice, the shorter crew cuts or the GI crops, the longer JFK style, the early French cuts a la JP Belmondo etc., not the Swinging 60s bouffant ones, which usually look a little contrived....
nothing anachronistic about haircuts like these...
All decent haircuts on that pic. I'm not so keen on the "white walls" on this one guy, but that's just me. I just prefer smoother transitions between the steps, a very soft graded cut...
You'll find these styles on almost every college yearbook (not just Ivy) and almost every ad from the Boom Years... some of them good, some of them better, some worse, and some of them just perfect...
Lots of variation, even within a single year or season, of course, as you can witness looking at Take Ivy...
An anachronism? No way, it's just classic and timeless...
Conformity? I don't think so. There's so much personal variation.
It really depends on the way you're head is shaped, and on the structure of your hair, and the proportions of your face, what's best for you...
Anybody who's looking good, doesn't have to be afraid to show his face.
another very british post. hank titles the post "college boy" and then shows photos of actors and singers
While we're at it, let's have a go at Scotch drinkers. Harumph! I believe many of them are not even Scotch!
Though who am I to cast the first stone. I drive an estate car, but actually live in a terraced house.
I've also heard this cut called a "Perry" cut. It maybe that name and the name College boy are British terms only. If you can't relate to that, thats a cultural thing, doesn't mean the names are wrong else where.

You're right, they're not Scotch they're Scots!
I'm going to go with "a right sexy bastard" haircut.
If you can't afford a barber, you can try it yourself with clippers and nail scissors.

Not sure about it, but I've read that the promo pictures for his first sleeves were printed mirror image... That's why I've mentioned it with Perry Como, too...
