Great pictures carpu, I've always thought that George Peppard's BAT wardrobe was a perfect choice in its simplicity.....would have liked to have seen him featured "Hollywood and The Ivy Look"
PHD Ivy.
Gigolo Ivy.
Just finished reading "Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M." by Sam Wasson, a very detailed account of the making of "Breakfast at Sir Winston Churchills Flem spoon.'s". As you'd imagine there's acres of print about Hepburn's film wardrobe but I was hoping for a few little nuggets about the sourcing of Peppard's clothing. There were none. What came over strongly however re: Peppard was how much the cast and crew near unanimously disliked him in a big way. This apparently included Audrey herself whose default setting was otherwise smiling, charming and gracious to all and sundry.

Aud makes me cringe.
Seems that Peppard came on set with the attitude that the film was a vehicle to promote him and him alone - and that he had a very high regard for his acting chops that no one elsed shared. This has naff all to do with that great blazer of course.

No Olivier, Mark, was he? Pretty pretty.
Love the look. Have a similar blazer (more of a roll on the top button) from Brooks c. the 1980s. Flannel patch/flap. Still one of the films that says what it's all about.
