It's a shame, but that seems to be the only pictorial evidence left......

Stripe heaven! I love these pictures, not least because Mrs Woof now realises that my shirt collection is quite puny!

Did you ever work in Benetton as a folder-upper?

Re: The Gallery -

Making ME hard. I have loved striped shirts for literally as long as I can remember. Seriously, I mean from the time I was 6 or 7.

Re: The Gallery -

I love the top pic with the blue stripes.

The differences between stripes are so minute as to frequently induce catatonia for at least 20 minutes of crippling indecision of a morning. Added bonus, after  deciding on which shirt , on the way out the door checking in mirror, you decide it isn't the right one and have to go back and change. Extra super Added bonus is the one you really decide is just right is the one that is grotty and squashed in the laundry basket or is wet.

And no one else can understand or even see the difference and most likely think you are a grubby lazy bugger who wears the same shirt each day.

I've been misguided. This is what I need, instead of all those plaids!

Re: The Gallery -

They look like cords or did you mean khaki colored trousers? I like the scuffed, dirty sneakers; hate this obsession today with pristine sneakers.

Re: The Gallery -

The high height of that plimsoll line made me think they were Vans but I'm no expert. More likely they were Sperry no doubt.

I have no idea on the shirt, personally.

Re: The Gallery -

I didn't know if they were cords, twill or what. My screen isn't that great. I'd say they were Khaki or tan? I like to imagine they were Khaki with that nice dark wool shirt.

I agree, battered sneakers look good if they fit with the rest of the outfit, dirty sneakers look like you know what sneakers are for and pristine white look like you're only allowed to play non contact sports.

Re: The Gallery -

I would have thought, vans to be more a west coast oriented brand at that point?

Re: The Gallery -

Absolutely. They would have been. It would make much more sene if they were Sperry if it was costume. I don't know if it was? I think JC wore Converse, stone chinos and off white crew neck sweat in the moving in scenes. Cant recall him wear this in the movie. I've not seen the movie for yonks now though. I'm probably not quiet right about much of this.

We'll call them Sperry until proven Van Doren.

Re: The Gallery -

Definitely do not look to be Vans - slip-ons always had padding around the collar if I am not mistaken.

Re: The Gallery -

I didn't think the earlier models did, but again I'm no expert. Definitely Sperry then?

The shirt? Wool flannel or just a real sturdy looking cotton flannel or twill?
