Guess who provided the earliest 3 shirts (1900s, 1920s-1930s, 1940s-1950s) for the author to use in this article about the evolution of the Brooks Brothers OCBD?
Thanks Put This On!

If you have wearable 1920s and 30s stuff I am always interested Mr Jones. I am 42R and 36/37 inch waist. Quite large for the 1920s and 30s alas.
It's official - Typhoid Jones is big... in Finland!

Fantastic!
Loved the pictures TJ... or I should really call you MdlS from now on.
Cheers for the link.
NP. I thought it would be nice for my online friends to see the face behind the name for a change, lol.
Thumbs up for the nicest, fastest and most helpful Etsy-Shop-Owner! Every time I wear my Pendleton Fair Isle sweater vest I get a ton of compliments...
'I would describe my personal style as: Appropriate, bordering on inappropriate.'
Love it.
What a great article. I enjoyed reading it. You have a couple of ties, I'd love to add to my collection.

This trader neatly types up his customs declaration labels, meticulously listing the items you have purchased and their prices. The result? A virtual guarantee of interception by UK Customs and a hefty addition to your costs. Other Etsy traders do not seem to find it necessary to go to his lengths. I have raised this issue with Typhoid Jones but he prefers his method of labelling, which of course he is quite entitled to do. However, when you are weighing up his prices bear in mind that if something is more than £15 in UK monetary value you will almost certainly have to pay an additional 20% VAT + £8 handling charge to those lovely folk at HMRC.
I suppose he has more to loose than gain. But it does my head in especially on the stuff around the £20 mark when you have to spend more on tax handling and shipping than the garment. Completely kills the transatlantic relationship. I dont blame TJ btw. Just making a broader point.
Had a very similar issue this week with another purveyor of vintage clothing from across the pond. Ended up paying a charge of £11.21 on $25 item - of which £8 was the ubiquitous 'handling' fee to those lovely people at Mount Pleasant ... true to form the sodding thing was hopelessly misdescribed and leaves me looking like Norman Pitkin in 'the square peg' ..... Could send it back for a refund .... but the cost of return renders it pointless . Still, do my fair share of whinging about Starbucks et al and wouldn't want to be lumped in the same category as those oily specimens ..... just happy that my VAT and handling fee are protecting the jobs of British workers .....
From his selection of top items to his presentation in his etsy shop, Typhoid Jones is no doubt meticulous.
Hi All!
I just returned from backpacking in Nicaragua, so I'm sorry to join the party a bit late, lol. I don't really have much more to add re: my packing and labeling practices other than to say that I do my best to ensure that your purchases arrive safely and in a timely manner. Part of that is neat and secure packing and wrapping as well as clear and legible labeling. Aside from that, I have never felt comfortable falsifying customs forms. I really do try to be as accommodating as I can possibly can be.
Alternatively, (if time is not a major consideration) I am able to ship from within the EU a couple of times a month. I was just in Paris with my wife over Christmas and shipped a package to Holland from there. It arrived on NYE in time for the buyer to wear it out that night.
Thanks again and I really do appreciate and enjoy my dealings with all of the members of Talk Ivy!
