Mimmo Spano Article

To Film Noir Buff (If you are a person),

That was a good article. Are you, or is this place going to do a follow-on about his suit making or his tailoring?

Am I correct in thinking this Mimmo makes people suits? How much do they run? Does he work out of Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC?

Also what other articles are coming?

I am indeed... a person, as you say.

Im happy you enjoyed reading it. I havent any plans to do a follow on about his suit making per se. I am going to do something else about him. Yes, he does work within Saks 5th Avenue, at the Flagship store in NYC.

About the prices, I dont feel comfortable quoting prices unless it is a ready made item or Im asked by the merchant to quote them. Just call him up and ask him yourself 212-940-2676.

FNB, nice to have found this new venue. The article on Mimo is interesting. It is important to note that the garments produced are done outside ( Adrian Jules ). You touched perfectly on the value add of doing business with Mimo. He has taken the time to search the archives of the very best producers Moxon, Taylor & Lodge, etc and provides people with the opportunity to have garments made  using vintage designs

I like the article too., you have a strong ability to tell a story. Are you doing more articles on men who dress well or was this a one time feature?

I just re-read it. offers something different every time. I think it appeals to the more traditional, older crowd. I like the way this place is mixing it up a little.

Re: Mimmo Spano Article

sounds similar to the relationship between Raphael and Flusser. At one time Raphael made all flusser's bench made garments. He eventually saw the light and went out on his own and by all accounts has done very well for himself and his clients, including many of those who used Flusser.

Re: Mimmo Spano Article

Are Spano's coats fused?  I just read an article on him:
http://www.departures.com/fa/fa_1103_customclothing.html

and if the price quoted bears any relationship to reality and if the coats were hand canvassed, it would be a very good value indeed.

Re: Mimmo Spano Article

Thanks FNB!! Maybe I should go and talk to some tailors to get a better idea of who will make a stylish business suit.
