A rare suit day for me:
Mid-Grey J. Press worsted Sack from the 80's- All the details, & I measured the cuffs with Messers Mark Collins & John Gall in mind - Tradland would have it that the J. Press 'New York Cuff' is 1 3/4" - Well maybe it is now, but these are 1 5/8", as are the cuffs on a much earlier vintage J. Press Sack suit of mine. I don't deny that Press did a 1 3/4" cuff, my point is that it was not any kind of universal standard. There is no one 'correct' 'Trad' cuff.
Brooks Blue/White Uni stripe OCBD.
Burgundy silk Knit tie - J. Press.
Cordo coloured belt & loafers, Canterbury & Sebago Caymen IIs respectively.
Charcoal hose from Marks & Sparks.
^Yes, a vintage BB washable suit in navy poplin.

Very cold the last two days.
* brown pants
* medium blue shirt with white stirpe and fine red stripe.
* grey harris tweed 3 buton coat (it's a good fit and is rare in that it doesn't need tailoring)
* Burgundy shell cordovan wingtips (Vass). Big FAT bastards with 360 degree goiser stitching. Been wearing them alot lately (3 times in 3 weeks). lt's been so cold and wet that l have been wearing shell regularly, l never normally do that, my instinct told me to do it. Funny. ?

You look like a London boy, Mr. Coleman!
Was representing London Ivy in the Landgericht Regional Court of Dusseldorf yesterday. Not on trial myself, you understand. No photos as the security took away my camera, but:
Blue vintage deadstock Sero OCBD sleeves rolled
Navy/Red/White/Yellow madras tie from Ralphy Factory store with slightly open collar (the just got home from work Jack Lemmon look)
Dockers Taper fit slim chinos at Take Ivy length
Pale blue pantherella full length fil d'ecosse socks
Unlined tan calf Trickers copies of Alden chukka
Persol 714 Folding Light Havana w/ blue lenses
The style in Germany may be somewhat over-dandified for our tastes but it's great to eat out in old school restaurants and see 70 year old couples who've thought about their look and co-ordinated it, however extreme the colour schemes may be. Compare that the middle classes of England with their bad Hackett and Boden (they think that's upscale!) with a pair of crocs.
One couple arrived in a chauffered black 1970s Lincoln Town Car and the old guy had a US forces white flat top, a cream (unrumpled) linen suit and rend suede brogues with lime green laces and carrying his wife's Pomeranian while the wife had hair styled in a 1950s candy floss maker. It was like German Fellini.
Kept an eye out for the legendary AE Kenwoods in scotch grain but my eye was caught by a vintage Rolleiflex that I had to buy. I found out the camera was damaged only just in time to return in and get my cash back, but not enough time to swap it for some AEs or Alden Cordos.

What I love is the simplicity - It says more by saying less.
the tie is insanely nice, expansion-team football associations or not.
A lot of of US companies made those whore spit loafers, too!
Such a shame to hide such a handsome face...
