Without checking their site, but at one point O'Connells had some NOS Sea Island cotton BD's in stock, not sure if they still have. They weren't cheap.

^ Great - those old Harry Fenton adverts always seem to emphasise the natural shoulder - anybody got a vintage Harry Fenton, there must be a few knocking about in the UK? Like how they've also managed to get a fag in - what would 60's advertising be without cigarettes.

Re: The Ivy League Style: The Boom Years.

from Lloyd Johnson's page Original Modernists 1959-66:

http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/261857_1794811113609_1339644316_31649313_5725388_n.jpg

Lloyd: "Hi! Chris do you mean the shoes here...They're ripple/zig-zag soles ...they were very popular for a short spell yes..I remember them...I've been looking for a pair on Ebay for a longtime but they never come up....This is Pierre Koenig the Modernist Architect..cool look wash n wear suit ..oxford BD..slim tie full windsor...and the Jerry Mulligan crop...he designed some fabulous houses in California during the 50s/60s..."

could have been posted in the architects thread as well...

I bought my first suit from Harry Fenton.  I shudder to think of it now.

Most interesting photographs I've seen for a while are of the three authors of 'The Films Of James Stewart', published back in 1970.  Jones, McClure and Twomey look like stewards at a Goldwater rally: short hair, specs, narrow ties.  Almost certainly no Englishman ever looked like that unless they were making a highly conscious effort.

GQ Campus & Career Annual 1966, currently for sale here: http://cgi.ebay.com/110654041142 ($75 is a bit steep, I think...)

Inside: Don Shollander is on the cover; Mod Fashions galore in this issue-Mod overcoats and suits; button down sport shirts; oxfords; Decline and fall of the Ivy League; Belmondo of France; Sticker peels off of the front cover. Volume 2 Number 1 and very scarce."
