Those little round stickers on the ankles lasted about an hour before you peeled them off.
I hope you enjoy this thread George. It's been brewing for a wee while and as I can't get decent enough screen shots for an I Spy thread just yet, I thought this might cheer you up.
I think you answered my sneaker problem.

Those army issue ones look like Jack Purcells - without the smiley face. We didn't get issued sneakers, we ran in boots. Oo Ray!

Yeah. They look like standard Chuck Taylors really. I'm only saying they are flyers because of the post on the blog that was next to them. I imagine they only would have had a BF Goodrich tag in them, if any at all. I'll post more of them when I get the chance.
You're out your mind Sh'bam.

Thank you but I'm going to be difficult and say I prefer the Bean. I'm a bloody crazy man! I think they look great.
I actual think they would float as well. Good luck on your quest... and don't ruin my sneaker thread again with your frankensneaks.
Ha!
I like Authentic and Era, Wahoo. Not Ivy perhaps, but absolutely rooted right into that west coast look.
I'll be posting some more on Van Doren/Vans next.

It is very difficult to find any pictures of Van Dorens pre 1970. Likewise ads are hard to find from the 60's. If any of you have any pictures of Vans or ads from before 1970, I'd love to see them.
Are those from the 90's NSB? US made?
I don't know too much about the chukkas, I'm not really that fond of them... but I know people who absolutely love them for skateboarding and parkour.
They did a limited edition crepe soled version of these a while back I think... and one with a hessian weave sole too.
